  • Handout CIVIL WAR NEWSPAPER DEADLINES
  • Due: List of Sources (end of period) 
  • Daily Goals: 
              1  -Select sources for Battle Report, Images of Battle, Battle Layout, and Opinion Piece
              2 -Take notes from sources for Battle Report & Opinion Piece
              3 -Gather images of battle and battle layout in WORD document and save to class project folder
              4 -Make list of sources in WORD and save to class project folder
  • Student Expectations:
                1- Group Member takes notes for Battle Report
                 2-Group Member takes notes for Opinion Piece
                3-Group Member gathers Images then helps take notes
  • Teacher to demonstrate:
               1-Show how to access suggested resources

             4-Write Rough Draft of Opinion Piece
             5-Begin laying out newspaper in PUBLISHER

            1-Group Member finishes notes for Battle Report and starts writing rough draft
            2-Group member finishes notes for Opinion Piece and starts writing rough draft
            3-Group member begins putting pictures and list of sources into Publisher
  • Teacher to demonstrate:

              3-Layout Newspaper in Publisher, put in images, captions, and headlines
             4-Create list of sources for Newspaper
  • Student Expectations:
           1-Group member types up Battle Report  in WORD and pastes it into PUBLISHER
           2-Group member types up Opinion Piece in WORD and pastes  it into PUBLISHER
           3-Group member pastes list of sources used in PUBLISHER
           4-Group member Layout Newspaper in PUBLISHER, put in images, captions, and headlines 
  • Teacher to demonstrate:
              1- Show students how to use Publisher
               2-Show students how to insert images
              3- Show students how to paste text
