Monday:
  • Substitute (Mr. Kelly is gone)
  • Students will watch America Before Columbus (starting at 38:30 in the clip).
  • Students will complete a 3-2-1 Learning Activity and turn it into the appropriate basket at the end of class
  • Students should use the scratch paper provided to them by the substitute
3-2-1 Activity Instructions:
  • Name and period at the top
  • Three things I found out from the video
  • Two interesting facts from the video
  • One question I still have after watching the video


Tuesday:
  • Discussion of 3-2-1 Questions from Monday
  • Mr. Kelly will divide up the vocabulary (p.3). Each person will be assigned one vocabulary word to look up and define online. 
  • Student will be responsible for coming up with a definition for their word and sharing it with the class.
  • We will discuss the vocabulary as a class and how it fits into the new unit.

Wednesday:
  • Thought Jot: What are some tricks you can use to decide if a source you find online is good to use?
  • Discuss Website Selections
  • Yesterday, Mr. Kelly divided up the vocabulary (p.3). Each person was assigned one vocabulary word to look up and define online.
