Monday:
  • New Seating Chart
  • Bell Ringer: Describe the difference between absolute and relative location. Give an example of each.
  • Continue Reading Chapter 1, Section 1 as a class (p. 11-13)
  • Students take notes on the 5 themes of geography on first page of packet

Tuesday:
  • Bell Ringer:  What is the difference between a Location and a Place? Describe your home as a Location and then a Place.
  • Students finish taking notes on the 5 themes of geography on 2nd page of packet
  • Introduce Five Themes of Geography Project


Wednesday:
  • Bell Ringer:  What examples of movement  of people, goods, and ideas do you see in our area?
  • Attendance
  • Planners
  • Continue Five Themes of Geography Project
  • Introduce students to Atlas in back of book (p.130)
  • After looking through the Atlas, students sign up for country
  • Show students how to use CIA Factbook for the project
  • Students  work on project research (using 1st page of project packet)
  • Assign: Five Themes of Geography Booklet (Due: Wed.  9/4)

Thursday:
    • Five Themes of Geography Project
    • Continue researching CIA Factbook for the project
    • Students research (using 1st page of project packet)
    • Introduce Craft Boxes
    • Assembly booklets as a class
    • Students work to layout and decorate their booklet
Friday:
