  • Five Themes of Geography
  • Handout Five Themes Project Packet
  • Define 5 themes as a class
  • Focus Lesson: Absolute vs. Relative Location
  • Cover Themes: Location, Place, Human-Environment Interaction
 
Thursday:
  • Bell Ringer: Describe the difference between absolute and relative location. Give an example of each.
  • Students take notes on the 5 themes of geography on first page of packet
  • Cover Themes: Movement and Region


Friday:
  • Introduce 5 Themes of Geography Booklet Research Project
  • Students look in index of nations in geography textbook and select top 3 picks for a country to research
  • Students sign up for country to research
  • Show students example projects
  • Go over project guidelines
  • Show students CIA World Fact Book
