Monday:
  • Bell Ringer:  What is the difference between a Location and a Place? Describe your home as a Location and then a Place.
  • Introduce Five Themes of Geography Project
    • Introduce students to Atlas in back of book (p.130)
    • After looking through the Atlas, students sign up for country
    • Show students how to use CIA Factbook for the project (bookmark)
    • Students  work on project research (using 1st page of project packet)
    • Assign: Five Themes of Geography Booklet (Due: Fri. 1/17, end of class)

Tuesday:
  • Bell Ringer:  What examples of movement  of people, goods, and ideas do you see in our area?
    • Continue Five Themes of Geography Project
    •  Use CIA Factbook for the project
    • Students  work on project research (using 1st page of project packet)

Wednesday:
  • Bell Ringer:  What regions is Eddyville in?
    • Continue Five Themes of Geography Project
    •  Use CIA Factbook for the project
    • Students  work on project research (using 1st page of project packet)

Thursday:
  • Bell Ringer: What are examples of environmental-interaction around Eddyville?
  • Research must be stamped to begin working on booklet!
  • Assemble booklets as class
  • Student layout and decorate their booklets
  • Students select and print pictures

Friday:
  • Due: 5 themes booklet and research notes due at the end of class!
  • Research must be stamped to begin working on booklet!
  • Assemble booklets as class
